A bit of marathon preparation
This weekend was supposed to be my first ultra race, running 12 hours through the night, but without reason I was notified by email just 2 week before hand that it was cancelled so in preparation for my upcoming marathons I entered the Banbury 15 mile race instead.
I planned to run this at my target marathon pace which I achieved pretty to the second with my average pace but it did go up and down quite a bit due the the course being very hilly with hardly any flat sections to find a rhythm at all.
This gave me a finishing time of 1.32.15, which was a PB as I’d never raced the distance before and also won me an unexpected 3rd place with the bonus of a cash prise.
In fact this was the furthest race I’ve ran to date but all being well that will soon change!
